 Wednesday 1/18 News At Noon

Jamie Lidell–“Me & You”: From his seventh and latest album, Building A Beginning. The English musician is based in Nashville and formerly of the band, Super Collider. This is his first album released on his own record label JaJulin Records.

Sjowgren–“Seventeen”: There is barely any information out there on the trio of two guys and a girl who met in high school and haven’t even revealed their names.

Spoon–“Hot Thoughts”: The title track of their ninth album, dropping on March 17th. They will have a three-night release week residency at South By Southwest.

Paul Shaffer & The World’s Most Dangerous Band feat. Jenny Lewis – “Sorrow”/new album out 3/17 (the song’s a tribute to a McCoy’s song Bowie covered on Pinups in ’73)

Iggy Pop (prod. by Danger Mouse) – “Gold”/title song for new Matthew McConaughey movie out 1/27

Thursday 1/19 News At Noon

Avalon Landing–“Only Kids”: The band started in upstate New York and are now based in Las Vegas and consists of Josh Rabenold on vocals,, Clayton Cobb on lead guitar, Mike Vargovich also on guitar and Charlie Buice on drums.

Bastille–“Blame”: The latest single from their new record, Wild World. The video is out now and you can catch them in Fairfax on March 28th.

Craig Finn–“Preludes”: The Hold Steady frontman’s third solo album, We All want The Same Things, drops on March 24th. This song is about coming back to the Twin Cities after college in 1994.

GEMS – “Free Fall”/new single from duo that formed in CVille

Arcade Fire (w/ Mavis Staples) – “I Give You Power”/new stand-alone single

Friday 1/20 News At Noon

Chance The Rapper Feat. Knox Fortune–“All Night”: Chancelor Bennett–Chance The Rapper–has seven Grammy Nominations for his debut full-length, Coloring Book, including Best Rap Album and Best New Artist. He is on the lineups for Governor’s Ball and Hangout Fest.

Temples–“Strange Or Be Forgotten”: This is the final track on the English quartet’s new album, Volcano, out March 3rd. The tune was written by bassist, Tom Walmsley.

Tribe Society–“Smoke Out The Window”: The first single from the New York City band’s forthcoming mixtape, We Sell Drugs, which is also out on March 3rd. The video is out now.

Gorillaz Featuring Benjamin Clementine–“Hallelujah Money”: The animated band’s first song in five years. Damon Albarn has finally returned to the project after a Blur reunion and a solo album. Murdoc, the band’s cartoon bassist, said on Facebook, “In these dark times, we all need someone to look up to. Me. That’s why I’m giving you this new Gorillaz song, a lightning bolt of truth in a black night. You’re welcome.”

Mosa Wild–“Smoke”: The debut single from Ashford-based four piece band. Mosa Wild’s name is a tribute to lead singer, Jim Rudabuka’s grandfather who was named Mosa.

Oh Pep!–“The Race”: The latest single from the Australian duo’s debut album, Stadium Cake. They just announced a tour with Valerie June.

Tuesday 1/24 News At Noon

New Language–“Frantic Believer”: The LA band was formed by Matt Cohen and Tyler Demorest and only played their first show back in April but just finished touring with The Used for their 15th anniversary tour.

Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever–“Julie’s Place”: The Australian band released their first EP on 2016 and their sophomore EP doesn’t have a title or release date yet. They will be in DC on March 19th.

Sleater-Kinney–“Surface envy”: From their live album, Live In Paris, recorded in March of 2015 at La Cigale. It drops on Friday and Carrie Brownstein has strongly hinted at new material soon.
