Wednesday 2/1 News At Noon

Lisa Hannigan–“Undertow”: She will be performing this song on The LAte Late Show With James Cordon on Valentines Day. It is from her third album, At Swim, which is out now and she will be in DC on the 23rd.

Shovels & rope–“Botched Execution”: From the wife and husband duo of Carrie Anne Hearst and Michael Trent’s latest album, Little Seeds, which is currently available. The album came in at number 22 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s list of the top 40 country albums of 2016.

Ty Segall–“Break A Guitar”: His self-titled album dropped last week, it is his ninth album in nine years and the second self-titled. The first was his 2008 debut. He is touring in the spring and has a late night TV appearance TBA later this month.

Father John Misty – “Two Wildly Different Perspectives”/Pure Comedy (out 4/7)

Thursday 2/2 News At Noon

Future Islands–“RAN”: Their fifth album, The Far Field, is set for an April 7th release and they will perform on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on February 9th. The album follows the central theme they’ve had for the last ten years, “That there is power in emotional vulnerability, that one can find a way to laugh and cry in the same breath–and be stronger for it.” While making it they tested the songs under fake band names. The band can be found on the lineups for the Panorama, Coachella and Bonnaroo festivals and at The Jefferson on May 30th.

Methyl Ethyl–“Ubu”: The Australian band has a headlining tour this spring and the new record from which this song is taken hits the shelves on March 3rd.

Sohn–“Hard Liquor”: The songwriter, electronic producer, and singer has had a lot of life changes since his 2014 release, Tremors. He got married, had a kid and moved from Austria to California. He recently performed on Jimmy Kimmel and his new album, Rennen, is currently available for purchase.

Friday 2/3 News At Noon

Bright Light Social Hour–“Tear Down That Wall”: Produced by Jim Eno of Spoon who are featured in the music video along with Wild Child and other Austin artists. The band are a fixture of the Austin music scene having headlined Stubbs, earned six South By Southwest Austin Chronicle Music Awards and played Austin City Limits. Catch them in Harrisonburg on April 29th at the Rocktown Festival.

Conor Oberst–“A Little Uncanny”: The version from Oberst’s new album, Salutations, a companion to 2016’s Ruminations which featured a different incarnation of the song. Salutations features Gillian Welch, The Felice Brothers, Blake Mills and Jim James. The video for this tune is out now.

Pinegrove–“Old Friends”: The Montclair, New Jersey band’s new album, Cardinal is out now. They are also re-issuing their compilation album, Everything So Far, on April 28th and will be on tour with a stop in DC on April 29th.

Depeche Mode – “Where’s The Revolution”/Spirit (out 3/17)

Monday 2/6 News At Noon

Real Estate–“Darling”:  From the new record, In Mind, out March 17th. They are confirmed for Coachella, South By Southwest and other festivals TBA as well as touring North America, also TBA. The album was recorded in LA with producer Cole M.G.N who has worked with the likes of Beck.

River Whyless–“Life Crisis”: They are playing the Southern on March 7th with Boston band Tall Heights opening. It is rumored that Wiver Whyless will make an appearance in the Corner Lounge. The video for this song is out now.

Alison Krauss–:River In The Rain”: A cover from the music Big River, which tells the store of Huckleberry Finn and Jim. In the show the song is a duet between Jim and Huck, and the cover is from Krauss’ new album, Windy City.

Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes–“Lullaby”: Carter is formerly the from man of Gallows, and Pure Love. This is the first single from his sophomore release with the Rattlesnakes, Modern Ruin, out now.

Justice–“Safe And Sound”: Off of the first album from the Grammy-winning duo in five years and their third album overall, Woman. They are on the lineups for the Ultra, Coachella and Panorama festivals.

Palmas–“Floating In The Dark”: The five-piece band are originally from Philadelphia and now based in New York.
