Wednesday 2/22 News At Noon
Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors–“Fight For Love”: The first single from the new album, Souvenir, dropping March 24th. They will be in Charlottesville on March 29th at The Jefferson.
Samantha Crain–“Oh Dear Louis”: From her new record, You Had Me At Goodbye, also out March 24th. The Oklahoma native’s latest effort was produced by John Vanderslice (Strand of Oaks, Spoon, The Mountain Goats”. She will be in DC on May 18th.
Violents & Monica Martin–“How It Left”: The latest single off of the debut album, Awake & Pretty Much Sober. Violents is the alias of multi-instrumentalist, classically trained pianist, songwriter and string arranger, Jeremy Larson. Monica Martin is the frontwoman of Phox.

Caleb Johnson–“Hanging with The Band”: Johnson was born and raised in Asheville, NC and was the winner of the 13th season of American Idol. The tune is from his forthcoming EP, Born From Southern Ground, and he is currently in Nashville recording his second full-length album.
Cameron Avery–“Wasted On Fidelity”: The debut single from Tame Impala’s touring bassist’s upcoming solo album, Ripe Dreams, Pipe Dreams. On the title he says, “I’m in my mid-twenties, I play in a band, I’m ripe to dream. But the pipe dream, the underlying theme of the album, if you really listen, is that all I really want is to have someone in my life and to be in love.
Walker Lukens–“Where Is Thunder Road”: The multi-instrumentalist and singer was born and raised in Houston and now lives in Austin. His new EP, Ain’t Got A Reason, is his third collaboration with Jim Eno of Spoon. It drops on April 7th.

Friday 2/24 News At Noon
A Day To Remember–“Bullfight”: The single from their 6th and latest album, Bad Vibrations, out now. The pop punk band out of Ocala, Florida are doing a hometown show on March 18th where they will receive the key to the city. They are also playing at The X Games in July.
This Wild Life–“Falling Down”: Anthony Del Grosso and Kevin Jordan make up the acoustic duo from Long Beach, CA. They started as the pop punk band, The Messenger, in 2010, have played Warped Tour multiple times and their new album, Low Tides, is out now.
Tennis–“My Emotions Are Blinding”: The 4th record, Yours Conditionally, drops on March 10th. It was composed during a 5 month sailing trip through the Sea of Cortez. Catch them in DC on March 19th. The Denver-based wife and husband duo, Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley started writing music to document their time living on a sailboat.

Magic Giant–“Set On Fire”: The new folk-pop-alt duo from LA just finished up a tour with The Revivalists. Their debut album’s title and release date are to be announced.
New Found Glory–“Happy Being Miserable”: The debut single from the pop punk legend’s 9th album, Makes Me Sick, which hits shelves on April 28th. They are currently on a 20th anniversary tour and playing their classic albums in full.
Ty Richards–“Going Out For A Cigarette”: Yet another artist out of Austin, Richards refers to himself as a “one-man-psych-rock-band”. His debut album, Zillion, dropped at the start of the month.

John Moreland–“It Don’t Suit Me (Like Before)”: From the 4th and latest album, Big Bad Luv, our May 5th. Moreland fronted punk and hardcore bands before becoming a country folk artist after hearing Steve Earle’s The Revolution Starts Now at 19. He says that the song, “Rich Man’s War” “punched him in the gut”. He never expected to make it as a musician but after his last album, High On Tulsa Heat (he moved to Tulsa when he was 10.) he’s played Colbert and hasn’t needed a day job. The new record was recorded in Little Rock, Arkansas and features Rick Steff of Lucero and others. He also says that his songs have always been a way to exorcise negative feelings so he can move on. He’s playing DC on in June.
The Matinee–“Dancing On Your Grave”: The song was a tribute to lead singer Matt Layzell’s late grandfather with whom the entire band was close. It is also the title track to the Vancouver band’s new album, out now. Layzell and guitarist, Matt Rose, have been making music together for 10 years and have since evolved into a band. All four members went to high school together.
Nahko & Medicine For The People–“Tus Pies (Your Feat)”: Nahko & Medicine For The People will be making appearances at the Firefly, California Roots and Summer Camp festivals along with a stop at Red Rocks and a full amphitheater tour with Rebelution all summer.
