Quilt–“Roller”: Off of Plaza, the third album from former School of The Museum of Fine Arts students.
The Young Wild–“Not A One”: The new California band formed as college students in San Diego. They just performed at SXSW and are currently touring.

Adia Victoria–“Dead Eyes”: One of Rolling Stone Magazines’ “10 Artists You Need To Know”, Adia Victoria’s debut album Beyond The Bloodhounds drops on May 13th and she will be in DC on May 17th.
Little Scream–“Love As A Weapon”: Little Scream is the stage name of Laurel Sprengelmeyer. Her new record, Cult Following, is out on May 6th and features Bryce Dessner of The National, Sufjan Stevens and Sharon Van Etten, among others.
Sturgill Simpson–“Brace For Impact (Live A Little)”: From his forthcoming album A Sailor’s Guide To Earth, due out April 15th. The album started as a letter to his first child, born in 2014.

Keith Harkin–“Mercy”: The first single from his second album, On Mercy Street. He says that this song is about the “yearning and struggle of a touring musician”.
Fitz and The Tantrums–“Handclap”: Their self-titled album is out in June with an accompanying tour stopping in Richmond on June 14th. Fitz describes the song as “X-rated Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind on the dance floor.” (One time, in 2013, my friend Dan and I met Fitz and The Tantrums.)
Bernhoft–“Stop/Shut Up”: The first single from the Norwegian artist’s forthcoming EP Stop/Shut Up/Shout It Out set to drop in early May. It is the follow-up to his Grammy-nominated 2014 album, Islander. He will be in DC on May 11th.

Corinne Bailey Rae–“Stop Where You Are”: Her new album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers is out in May and she will be in Washington DC on May 22nd.
The Unlikely Candidates–“Your Love Could Start A War”: The single is the first follow-up to their Follow My Feet EP from 2013.

Lake Street Dive–“I Don’t Care About You”: The follow-up to “Call Off Your Dogs” from Side Pony. They will perform at the NTelos Wireless Pavilion on June 11th.
Mudcrutch–“Trailer”: Tom Petty’s pre-Heartbreakers band formed with Tom Leadon. Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench of the Heartbreakers are also members. Their debut full-length came out eight years ago and the second, Mudcrutch 2, is out in May. They will be in DC on June 6th.
Rokia Traore–“Tu Voles”: French for “you fly”. Rokia Traore is from Mali and has been performing since 1997. Her sixth album Ne So is out now.
