Britta Phillips–“Drive”: Voice of Jem and The Holograms and one half of Dean and Britta, Britta Phillips’ debut solo album is out on April 29th. It features five original songs and five covers including this one of The Cars.

Case/Lang/Veirs–“Best Kept Secret”: Neko Case, KD Lang and Laura Veirs have had the idea of working together kicking around for a while. The self-titled debut is out in June and you can catch them in DC on 7/27 or at the Newport Folk Festival.

Fast Romantics–“Animal”: The Toronto band formed in 2009 and have a new record coming out in the summer.

Broods–“Free”: The New Zealand brother/sister duo recently moved to LA. This is the first single from their forthcoming sophomore album.

Good Old War–“Never Gonna See Me Cry”: From the Philadelphia trio’s crowd-funded fourth album, Broken Into Better Shape. They will be in Vienna on May 26th.

The 1975–“She’s American”: From their second album I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It. There are three lyrics references to songs from the band’s 2013 debut. They will be at The Pavilion on June 12th.

Hard Working Americans–“Opening Statement”: From their new record, Rest In Chaos, out May 13th. The album was written entirely on the road and recorded in six different studios. They will be playing in Richmond on May 21st.

Hey Marseilles–“West Coast”: The second single from the Seattle band’s self-titled third album. Catch them in DC on May 17th.

John Doe–“Go Baby Go”: John Doe’s latest release, The Westerner, features Debbie Harry and others and is set for an April 29th release. Doe’s first book, Under The Big Black Sun: A Personal History of L.A Punk, is out on April 26th.
