Wednesday News At Noon

-Barns Courtney–“Fire”: The UK artist (who actually lived in Seattle until he was 15) has toured with The Libertines, Ed Sheeran–who is a friend from growing up)–Blur, Elle King and The Who. He will be at South By Southwest next week and then will be doing a US Tour.

-Elephant Revival–“When I Fall”: The Colorado folk group who have been around for the last decade have a new record, Petals, coming out on April 1st and will be headlining Red Rocks in May.

-Spirit Animal–“Regular World”: The Brooklyn-based four-piece will be performing at South By Southwest next week with full tour dates to be announced afterward. Their debut LP is out in the summer.

Thursday News At Noon

-Bombino–“Akhar Zaman (This Moment): The Tuareg guitarist wrote this song as a call to action for the Tuareg people to remember their heritage in the face of modern changes. His latest album, Azel, drops on April 1st. It was recorded at Applehead Studios in Woodstock and co-produced with Dave Longstreth of The Dirty Projectors. Bombino will be at South By Southwest next week and then a full tour including a date in DC on March 30th.

-Kevin Morby–“I Have Been To The Mountain”: From Kevin Morby’s third and latest solo album, Singing Saw. Morby is formerly of the bands Woods and The Babies. He is also playing at South By Southwest and will then be in DC on June 23rd.

-Yeasayer–“Silly Me”: The second single from their new record Amen And Goodbye, to be released on April 1st. The record was recorded straight to tape, and the band will be in DC on May 16.

-Fruition–“Labor of love”: The title track from three-lead-singer/songwriter band’s fourth album. They will be in DC on May 25th.

-Hollis Brown–“Rain Dance”: Bo Diddley didn’t have a chance to finish the song before he passed away. Hollis Brown turned it into a collaboration.

-Aoife O’Donovan–“Porch Light”: The latest single from her new album, In The Magic Hour, which is out now. She will be playing at The Southern on April 5th.

-Flogging Molly–“The Hand of John L. Sullivan”: Flogging Molly’s first new music in five years commemorates the Boston legendary heavyweight boxer John L. Sullivan. They were in DC this past weekend and will be on Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday.

-Jackie Greene–“One Bad Love”: Jackie Greene’s latest album, Back To Birth, came out over the summer. This track is from the deluxe version which dropped on Friday.
