Empty Houses–“Rope”: From the Detroit trio’s debut album, Day Dream, which drops on the 10th. It was produced by Graham Marsh who has worked with the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Gnarls Barkley and Bruno Mars.

Loudon Wainwright III–“I Had A Dream”: The Grammy winner is no stranger to writing songs about current events. This is no exception.

The Strumbellas–“Summer of 69”: The Bryan Adams cover is featured on Amazon Music’s Songs of Summer playlist that hits the internet on Friday. It is a blend of covers and original tunes from thirty different artists.

Bonnie Bishop–“Mercy”: From the Texas native and Grammy winner’s sixth album, Ain’t Who I Was, produced by Dave Cobb who has worked with the likes of Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell. It is her first album in nearly half a decade and you can catch her in Virginia Beach on August 15th.

Frankie Lee–“Where Do We Belong”: The Minnesota artist’s full-length debut, American Dreamer, drops July 8th and he will be touring with Esme Patterson.

Derik Hultquist–“1983”: His full-length debut, Southern Iron, is out on June 17th. He will be opening for Matthew Logan Vasquez at The Southern on July 28th.

Beck–“Wow”: The new album is set for a Fall release. In the meantime you can see Beck at Governor’s Ball and Mountain Jam.

Amos Lee–“Vaporize”: Lee wrote the chorus and verse for this song one day and then shelved it. He didn’t finish it until he was inspired by ScHoolboy Q’s “Studio”.

Catcus Blossoms–“Mississippi”: From the Minnesota brothers’ latest album, You’re Dreaming. They will be performing at Austin City Limits and Newport Folk.

Kyle Craft–“Eye of The Hurricane”: The Louisiana native’s solo debut, Dolls of Highland was inspired  by the end of an eight-year relationship. He made the record in Portland with Brandon Summers and Benjamin Weikel of Helio Sequence.

Brian Fallon–“Steve McQueen”: The next single from Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem, Horrible Crows) first solo album. He stopped by the Corner Lounge back in January. Painkillers was produced by Butch Walker her also plays guitar on the record. So far this is Kendall’s favorite record of 2016.

Sam Beam and Jesca Hoop–“Valley Clouds”: Second single from their collaborative duet album Love Letter For Fire.

Tegan and Sara–“Faint of Heart”: Their eighth album, Love You To Death, dropped on Friday the 3rd. There isn’t a single guitar on the entire record. Catch them in Richmond on November 9th.

Bruce Hornsby And The Noisemakers Feat. Mavis Staples–“Celestial Road”: From the new record Rehab Reunion, coming out on the seventeenth. Justin Vernon of Bon Iver is also featured. Hornsby will be at the Funhouse Fest in Williamsburg the 23rd-26th, Floyd Fest July 3rd and Shenendoah Valley Music Fest September 3rd.

Marco Benevento–“In The Afternoon Tomorrow”: From his sixth solo album, The Story of Fred Short. This album marks the first time he included guitar on any of his songs and that guitar is by Brad of the Barr Brothers. Andrew of the Barr Brothers is on drums. He will be in DC on September 1st.

Simo–“Please”: From their third full-length release, Let Love Show The Way. The trio takes their name from lead guitarist JD Simo and were recently in town at The Jefferson opening for Blackberry Smoke.
