Okkervil River–“The Industry”: Their new record, Away, is set for an early September release and they will be in DC on September 19th.

Third Eye Blind–“Cop Vs. Phone Girl”: The song tells the story of the Spring Valley High attack of a student by a police officer in South Carolina last year.

The Record Company–“Rita Mae Young”:  From their major label debut, Give It Back To You. Catch them at The Southern on October 14th.

The Stray Birds–“Third Day In A Row”: Off of the trio’s latest release, Magic Fire, which is their first with an outside producer. They will be at The Southern on August 23rd.

Butch Walker–“Ludlow Expectations”: From his upcoming album, Stay Gold, dropping on the 26th. The Ludlow is a hotel on the Lower East Side of the city that Walker says “owns part of [his] heart and a third of [his] liver”. He wrote it while walking around at 3 AM and refers to it as an “escape song”, which he has always been a fan of.

Liz Longley–“Swing”: The Berklee graduate’s new album, Weightless, is out August 26th and was produced by Bill Reynolds of Band of Horses. She will be in Richmond on October 25th.

Parsonsfield–“Stronger” The debut single from the new album, Blooming Through The Black, produced by Sam Kassirer (Bhi Bhiman, Josh Ritter, Elephant Revival). Catch Parsonsfield in Narrows on Thursday.
