Wednesday 8/17 News At Noon
Castro–“Diamond Dreams”: The sibling trio opened the first panel at the FMQB Triple A Conference Day 2. “Diamond Dreams” is the title track to their debut EP. Jason, the oldest sibling, made it to the final 4 of Season 7 of American Idol.
Paper Bird–“Don’t Want Half”: This band played the cocktail party of Day 2 of the FMQB Triple A Convention. Their new self-titled album was produced by John Oates and David Kalmusky and is the first with vocalist Carleigh Aikins (Fox Jaws, Bahamas), it drops on September 9th. Catch them in Vienna on November 30th co-headlining with The Ballroom Thieves.
Sara Hartman–“Satellite”: She showed her undeniable star power at Lunch on Day 2 of the FMQB Triple A Convention. She is American but lives in Germany now and recently opened for X-Ambassadors.

Dawes–“When The Tequila Runs Out”: The first single from their new record, We’re All Gonna Die, which drops on September 16th. They will be touring, no dates here yet but more are TBA.
Sara Watkins–“Move Me”: Another artist I saw at the FMQB Triple A Conference in Boulder. Jeff interviewed her at Bonnaroo in June, check it out on our Corner Lounge Page. Her third solo album, Young In All The Wrong Ways, is out now–she calls is a “breakup record with [her]self”. Catch her in DC on October 6th.
The Tallest Man On Earth–“Rivers”: With horns and piano the new single from Kristian Matsson alias The Tallest Man On Earth, is fuller than what we typically expect of him. You’ve already heard this tune if you saw him at The Jefferson a few months back.

Blind Pilot–“Packed Powder”: From their new record, And Like Lions, which dropped last Friday. They performed at the FMQB Triple A conference in Boulder last week and will be in DC on September 23rd.
Foy Vance–“Upbeat Feel Good”: From his third album, The Wild Swan, which he released on Ed Sheeran’s label, Gingerbread Man Records. The Northern Irish artist has toured with Ed as well.
The Marcus King Band–“Ain’t Nothing Wrong With That”: The Psychedelic Southern Rock/Blues/Jam/Rock/Funk band from Greendville, SC will be at The Southern on October 8th.

Andrew Bird–“Roma Fade”: The next single from Andrew Bird’s latest album, Are You Serious. Catch him in Richmond on October 6th.
Blackberry Smoke–“Believe You Me”: From the Atlanta quintet’s third album, Like An Arrow, dropping October 14th. They were at The Jefferson in May and will be in Glen Allen on September 29th with Gov’t Mule.
Elise Davis–“Penny”: The Little Rock, AR native’s new album, The Token, was produced by Sam Kassirer (Lake Street Dive, Josh Ritter, Langhorne Slim) and puts a microscope on the southern dynamic between the sexes.
