This Just In

Videos of the Day – week of 10/20

10/20 – Sleater-Kinney is back!  Here’s the new lyric video for “Bury Our Friends” from the new album No Cities To Love out Jan. 20!

10/21 – and speaking of supercool indie rock all-female trios, here’s the new Ex Hex video!  That’s ex-Cville resident Betsy Wright in the leopard-print (she used to be in The Fire Tapes around here)

10/22 – Love to segue a band like Ex Hex with a song called “XXX” by the new Domino Records band, The Bohicas!  Also works well sonically, not just name-wise 🙂

10/23 – a nice nod to several classic videos in this new one from the duo Linus Young, and it captures well the feeling of a kid’s transition from loving toys & superheroes into rock star/video game worship…

10/24 – 2 great shows in town tonight…

Sharon Van Etten at The Jefferson –

and Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires are back in Cville tonight at The Southern…check out their video for “The Company Man” & turn it UP, man!

joining Lee Bains on the bill is a band that I wouldn’t blame you if you dismissed based on band name only…but turns out Diarrhea Planet is really um, exploding out of Nashville!?  Doesn’t the singer look like Jared Leto?
