10/10 – news this week of Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings’ new album coming out in January…it had been set for release in August, but Sharon was diagnosed with cancer this spring.  Daptone Records says, “It brings great joy and relief to announce that after a successful operation, ongoing treatment, and the continued support and love of friends, family, and fans, Sharon Jones is back.”  Check out the animated video for the lead track, “Retreat”

10/11 – Deltron 3030 is in town tonight at The Jefferson…it’s a hip-hop supergroup/collective/alter ego project a la Gorillaz, with special guests like Mike Patton on this track…
