This Just In

Videos of the Day – week of 3/09/20

3/9 – Brisbane, Australia quartet The Jungle Giants have a new track out & a video that seems eerily appropriate for these times…

3/10 – as heard on the News at Noon today, Hannah Georgas was part of The National’s touring band last year & is on the Dessner brothers’ new label, one of whom produced her upcoming album

3/11 – as heard earlier this week on the News at Noon, the Sub Pop L.A. trio Moaning have shared their newest single “Fall In Love” from their forthcoming sophomore album, Uneasy Laughter. The video, which premiered via Adult Swim, was animated and directed by Moaning‘s own Sean Solomon.  Of the song and video, Solomon says “People my age are skeptical of love because we see how many previous generations got divorced or went through painful experiences. The song is about being afraid to fall in love because of expecting heartbreak. It’s about hating yourself too much to open yourself up to someone else. It’s a bummer of a song lyrically but it’s pretty fun to dance to!”

3/12 – here’s a new single from another Sub Pop (and another Australian) band, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. The video, directed by Nick Mckk and Julia Jacklin, is set in broad daylight at an actual Australian drive-in!

3/13 – 2 local faves with big things happening this year…unfortunately, tonight’s Shagwuf’s album release party at The Southern is postponed, but the album is still out today!  Chamomile & Whiskey (at last check) were still set to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a little early at The Jefferson Saturday…
