Videos of the Day – week of 3/2/15

3/2 – Bob Dylan goes film noir for his new video (see above) out today, which fits the musical vibe as well, since the songs are all among those Frank Sinatra (among others) recorded some 50+ years ago.  Dylan says, “I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time but was never brave enough to approach 30-piece complicated arrangements and refine them down for a 5-piece band. It was all done live. Maybe one or two takes. No overdubbing. No vocal booths. No headphones. No separate tracking, and, for the most part, mixed as it was recorded. I don’t see myself as covering these songs in any way. They’ve been covered enough. Buried, as a matter a fact. What me and my band are basically doing is uncovering them. Lifting them out of the grave and bringing them into the light of day.”

3/3 – the song “Electric Love” by BØRNS is really starting to take off…I almost like this acoustic, in the car version better (with an assist from Zella Day).  See what you think…

3/4 – Here’s the new single from Until the Ribbon Breaks, with help from the duo that put out one of the best hip-hop albums of 2014, Run The Jewels

3/5 – Houndmouth has a new album out later this month (3/17), then they play the Jefferson 4/29!

3/6 – when Prince released 2 albums last year, this was immediately one of our favorite BTC tracks.  Now it has an official video!
