Videos of the Day – week of 4/29/19

4/29 – Irish singer/songwriter Orla Gartland has successfully harnessed the powers of YouTube/Patreon the last few years & has a new video out

4/30 – Cville’s own Parachute is back in town tonight at The Jefferson!  Their self-titled 5th record is out 5/10 (they’ll be in the Corner Lounge at 3pm) & here’s their latest video!

5/1 – been listening to the new John Paul White album lately…it was Roy Orbison’s birthday last week & see if you agree there’s a bit of Roy influence in the arrangement & vocal performance on this one!

5/2 – Todd Snider’s in town tonight at The Jefferson.  Back on 4/20, he was joined for his encore by John Prine for (of course) “Illegal Smile!”

5/3 – Silversun Pickups has announced a new album Widow’s Weeds out 6/7.  Here’s their new video, which seems to reinforce the song’s commentary on “influencer” culture and/or the grip social media has on most (if not all) of us…
