Videos of the Day – Week of 4/9/18

4/9 – The Shins have literally JUST unveiled a new video for “Heartworms (Flipped).” The visual is a clip from the band’s short film The Worm’s Heart, which was directed by Shins drummer Jon Sortland. Check out the Amelia Earhart inspired video in its entirety HERE.

On Saturday, April 21 the band will release a split 12” for Record Store Day. It’s titled “Los Lobos vs. The Shins” and features three distinct versions of their song, “The Fear”: the heavy on the heartstrings rendition from buddy-band Los Lobos, the original booming, sweeping track from Heartworms, and finally, the kinetic flipped version from The Worm’s Heart. The “Los Lobos vs. The Shins” 12” will be available as a digital EP on April 24.

4/10 – Durand Jones & The Indications formed in Bloomington, Indiana & recently signed to the great indie label Dead Oceans.  Check out their new video!

4/12 – G Flip is 24-year-old Melbourne based Georgia Flipo, who just released her debut single “About You.” Fresh off several sets at SXSW, she’s been garnering raves from NPR’s All Songs ConsideredRolling StonePitchforkThe LA Times, and Pigeons and Planes just to name a few!?  See & hear what all the fuss is about…
