Videos of the Day – week of 5/22/17

5/22 – local troubadour Devon Sproule had an album release party over the weekend…see above for a new video!

5/23 – remembering Chris Cornell with this version of Chris covering U2’s “One” with the lyrics of Metallica’s “One” back in 2013…he explains how he happened upon the connection at the start of the clip.  We’ll have an hour-long tribute to Chris’s music at 11pm tonight as the 2nd half of BTC.

Meanwhile, U2 & Metallica were among several artists paying tribute to Chris in concert settings around the world in recent days…

and a nice tribute from his good friend & Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Nile Rodgers

5/24 – Onto better, completely different generational news, Harry Styles debuts at #1 on the Billboard album chart, then does a secret show in L.A., joined by Stevie Nicks…sounds (and looks) like it was a pretty emotional moment for the ex-1D star!

5/25 – Wes Swing will be joining us in the Corner Lounge next Thursday at 8pm for Live & Local before his album release show at The Southern next Friday

5/26 – ICYMI, the new Muse song debuted last week!  The action-packed video was directed by Lance Drake and features Lauren Wasser.  Singer Matt Bellamy says: When I was writing this song, I was looking to counteract the current negativity in the world and give inspiration, optimism and hope to people to fight for the causes they believe in; that as individuals we can choose to change the world if we want to.”

Lance Drake says: “The song is about survival and fighting the odds – when I heard this song I knew I wanted to do an action packed narrative. I’d heard about Lauren a year or so ago, I read her story and she gave me personal inspiration so I’d always kept her in mind to shoot with one day. The power of the song made me think of her … so I wrote the video narrative based on Lauren’s story and how she overcame the odds.”
