This Just In

Videos of the Day – week of 7/7

7/7 – on Ringo’s birthday, Sir Paul McCartney has premiered his new video, which also features Johnny Depp!  I think the song’s more about Paul & John growing up, but interesting choice of release day there, Paul!?

7/8 – Tweedy is the new project from Jeff Tweedy & his son coming in Sept….apparently they are going to unveil a track a week over the 8 weeks leading up to the release.  Here’s the first video, for “Summer Noon”

7/9 – if you missed Jimmy Kimmel’s attempt last week to replicate the 11-year-old who has made Sia’s new “Chandelier” video a viral sensation, it’s pretty hilarious!

7/10 – found out about Tiny Ruins from a Missouri friend’s Facebook page…and she’s coming to Cville to open for Sharon Van Etten 10/24 at The Jefferson!

7/11 – here’s a late-breaking addition for today – Neko Case & Kelly Hogan do a send-up of Star Wars/sci-fi fanboy culture in this new goofy video…although I kind of agree with one of the (female) commentors on YouTube – “Really troubled by this song’s (incorrect) assumption that nerd stuff = teenage boy stuff? The geek community is more gender-balanced now than it’s ever been before. Catch up.”

and here’s a fun, gender-neutral new track from XL recording artist Jungle…perfect for all the hard workers on a Friday looking forward to the weekend!
