8/12 – Charles Owens Trio has a great new live video out as they get set to celebrate the Record Release show for the R4ND4ZZO Big B4nd tomorrow at The Southern!  The new album “Charles Owens Trio – Three and Thirteen” (they are a trio with 10 additional players for the BIG band) was released on Ropeadope Records this past Friday.

8/13 – it’s the collab the world has been waiting years for…Jack Black has done a song with Jack White!  Well, Tenacious D technically, but the visit to Jack White Land is on Jack Black’s new YouTube channel (some of the swearing is bleeped out, but not all fyi)…no word on when the world will get to actually hear the song, ha.  The Jack White part starts about 4 minutes in.

8/14 – Bumping the previoulsy posted Catfish & The Bottlemen video for this amazing rendition of “The Chain” by The Highwomen w/ Jimmy Fallon!

8/15 – Velvet Negroni is a Minneapolis, MN artist out with a new album on 4AD the last Friday of Aug.  He’s written for Kanye and Kid Cudi and appears on the new Bon Iver album.  Really cool use of lighting in his new video…

8/16 – Bat For Lashes has a new album out 9/6. Here’s the new single/video

Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist and founding member of the glam rock band Kiss, who captivated audiences with his elaborate galactic makeup and smoking guitar, died Thursday. He was 74.
